Bridal Shower Invitations!!!!

Okay I know I'm not supposed to plan my own bridal shower but I had to have some input in it right???  Well my main input on my bridal shower was its theme.  I already know I don’t want to have a bachelorette party so I wanted my bridal shower to be something “I” wanted.  Anyone who knows me knows that I’m OBSESSED with shoes!  The higher the better – and I love platforms.  So I want my bridal shower to be a “shoe” theme.  My mom was rather confused by this. She thought all I wanted for gifts were shoes.  I told her no I would be happy with any gifts but since I have a love of shoes I just want that to be its theme.  Personally I don’t want anyone to buy me shoes cause they probably wouldn’t pick me something I would like.  Cause when I say the higher the better – I really mean it.  I LOVE wearing 4 ½ to 5 inch heels to work EVERYDAY!  I don’t think most of my friends or family really think I do this – now my co-workers they know – they see me and most of them ask me how do I do it.  But there is something about a shoe that can make you feel pretty, sexy, powerful and just plain GOOD!

So when I first started wedding planning I came across a bridal shower invitation that had a shoe on it.  I fell in love with it cause it had “ME” written all over it.  I saved it until it was time to start planning for my bridal shower.  Well I asked my DOC if she can recreate the invitation and add my own wording cause I didn’t want to use the standard wording the original invitation came with.  My MOH came up with the wording and I loved it.  Thankfully after many hours my DOC showed me a proof and I loved it.  She made me a sample with the shoe being green – cause I thought I wanted to keep my wedding color scheme – but when she showed me what it looked like in red – there was no question – the red shoe was the one!!!

Favors

Okay so I’m not done being involved with the planning – the last thing I wanted to do is take care of all the favors!!!  This is a giant task and could get very expensive – especially for what I want to do and for the number of people that may be coming.  So to tie my shower theme in to everything I plan on giving each person a tote bag with the saying “If the shoe fits … Buy It!  - Dawn’s Bridal Shower April 17, 2010!  The tote bags I’m going to get from www.cheaptotes.com and the ones I picked are only 1.50 each.  All I have to do is work with them to get my saying screen printed on the bag.  I’m going to put the tote bag in a regular bag and my DOC is going to make me labels for those bags!  I will also put a bottle water inside with a matching label from my bridal shower as well.

Other gifts that will be given out for games I like are gift cards to DSW, Starbucks, and Express.  I will probably have a couple bath-n-body works gift baskets or Victoria Secrets gift baskets and some simple stuff like frames, candles and slippers.  Here are some other “shoe” trinkets I found as well!!

Thank You Cards

I'm really excited about my thank you cards.  They are really cute, IMO, and of course they are consistent with my overall shoe theme.

Attire

So far I haven't decided what I'm going to wear to my bridal shower yet - but I did find a cute top for my daughter - she will almost be 2 years old.  They also have this shirt as tanks, I was thinking about it for my bridesmaids and my mom!
